Just today, Nolan has showed more examples of how contrary he can be. He was looking at the seam of my flower covered shirt and said, "It's broken!" I explained to him that's where the fabric was sewed together and it looks like the flowers are "broken" to which he laughingly replied, "No, it's sewed apart!"
After having to try hard to get him to take a bath tonight, usually something he does without rebellion, I told Nolan that it was time to get up. He quite seriously replied that no, it was time to get down!
Then he took his opposites to extremes that perhaps he should not go... I explained to him that his little potty is for little bottoms like his, and then he said, "You have a big bottom!" He meant that the potty was not for me... but he should watch his language.
As far as potty training goes, it's going OK. He is amazingly helpful at picking up the bowl from his little potty and pouring into the big one, then washing it out in the bath. He is actually volunteering to go to the potty on his own, although rare. This is going to take a while.

As a non-parent, I often cringe at the mention of potty training stories. I did, however, get a good laugh out of this one. He will have to learn to hold his tongue, or he may not be too popular with the ladies!
