as for Nolan's creativity

This is going to be hard to remember the many cute developments in Nolan's intellect and toddler life, so I may have to edit...

He has a penchant for Sesame Street. To put it bluntly, an addiction. When a parent sees a child so obsessed with something you can choose to embrace it or be scared by it. I'd say we are a mixture. He knew that he could watch it anytime on the internet and even dictate which character he wanted to see (always Big Bird) so my computer had to "break." Then he knew that he could watch it on the DVD player anytime since we own a set of old school Sesame Street. Over time, his addiction has been molded from an all day craving to a periodic gift. I can't blame him though, his obsession developed along with winter this year so I can't wait to see how important it will be once it warms up a little. Last summer, it was impossible to get him inside and he was out all day, even after dinner before bedtime.

There are many cute things Sesame Street has contributed to Nolan's imagination, though. Out of the blue one day Nolan picked up three toys that looked the same and one different and laid them out on his stuffed turtle's back which happened to look like a four square grid. He then started to try to sing the song, "one of these things is not like the others..." to my amazement.

He's developing a bit of a sense of humor, too. I may have mentioned earlier our ongoing silly argument about "eat milk" verses "drink milk." He has now taken it to another level. He now goes through a whole list of inedible things, and asks, "You want to eat fill-in-the-blank?" He'll ask from a whole range of things that he sees: cars, windows, bushes, planes, you name it.
