I had to hide the Christmas presents because of a very eager boy, and it turns out he's sneaky, too. He found where I hid them and was satisfied at the time with being told he had to wait, but when I put them out he couldn't wait for me to come back with the rest. I caught him with his hand inside his gift...
His first present turned out to be a combination of his two of his favorite things, Sesame Street and a laptop. He knows how to use mine, now he can play with his own (hopefully).
For John, I got Birdscapes, a wonderful pop-up book of birds in their habitats complete with the sounds of their homes. It was a hit with everyone... Nolan loves pop-up books and even the dogs were at attention grumbling and hair standing up.
John got for me a set of Melmac dishes that I had admired at a local antique store. Nolan loved them, too, and has been playing kitchen with them. He's cooking with wooden beads. Later today we went to the neighbor's to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer AND a Charlie Brown Christmas. Nolan was transfixed and I don't think I've seen the Charlie Brown special in years... it's been a good snow day.
