the subject of this blog is Nolan's vocabulary, but i figured i'd throw in a couple pictures (not the standard of quality i usually prefer) but certain grandparents do loooove to see pictures. so Nolan is pictured with a toy dog that barks and is a particular favorite around here as he carries it in a stranglehold, and a teapot. i have no idea why he loves the teapot (which is cold and empty).
in addition to grrrr, dog, woof woof, mama and dada, Nolan has said ball, once only while holding a ball. today he busted out with two new word like noises. as i was chanting "bye bye" to everyone at work as Nolan was leaving our lunch together, he repeated something that was the same tone and canter as bye bye but i couldn't even tell what consonants he was using. tonight as we were fussing with all the going to bed activities, he kept saying "mih, mih, mih"! i've been saying milk and signing it forever and now the word comes out! Nolan is a prolific talker, just not with those pesky words that slow down your train of thought. i guess he's decided to throw a few words in. when he's babbling, he always ends it on an up-swing almost question like tone. i was commenting on this to John as Nolan was babbling and John said, "he didn't do it just then." i said, "wait, he's not done with his sentence." Nolan then finished his point with the uptone conclusion.
