pet the dog

the dogs and Nolan are sweeter on each other each day it seems. especially since Nolan started giving them so much food. all of Stella and Riley's patience, fear of high-pitched baby screams and neglect by their owners will pay off when Nolan can run around and play with them.

this Saturday morning we were making music. he was being a bit crabby, but the melodious sounds of mixing bowls playing with rubber tipped baby spoons seemed to calm him down. since i started work there has been a noticable difference in the way he behaves around me. as soon as i get home, it's as if he wants to make up for all the lost time and wants me to walk him everywhere, play with everything in the whole house almost and throws a tantrum if i don't follow along immediately. the tantrum usually involves him throwing himself backwards into a backbend and screaching. sometimes just a half-screach because something then amuses him and it turns into laughter (like me planting a big zerbert on his belly, or a dog licking his face). he makes me feel bad for working, but he has fun with John all day, and that's pretty priceless.
