Autumn?!

it was beautiful today and it looks like it's going to be all week long. for the first day of Autumn things aren't as frigid as i've been led to expect. no doubt the chill will come. Nolan was enjoying crawling around in the grass and examining leaves, pine cones and twigs. he readily walks now with one finger to grip, a bit too eagerly at times. he has to balance himself against the one hand so it seems to me it might be easier for him to walk without a finger at all, right? he did take a few steps on his own again today, but he was cajoled into it. i placed him standing in front of me as i sat, and he came toward me. however, he was so excited he walked diagonal to the floor. no wonder it was only a few steps until i caught him.


John attempted to get some stereo shots of Nolan, but our boy may have been too quick for the camera...


i though it would be cute to get a shot of Nolan sitting proudly with his dad on the motorcycle, but the engine was running and may have freaked him out. either that or the fact that his dear mother was six feet away. who knows. in the morning John & Nolan walk to the car with me as i prepare to drive off to work, and they watch me until i'm gone around the corner. since Nolan's developed "object permanence" we were hoping this routine would help him out and decrease the clinginess. on the clingometer, this weekend ranked pretty good (and definitely better than the last). i think he's getting more accostomed to me working again.
