Now that Nolan is old and strong enough to shovel (and he's interested in doing it), we really haven't had as much snow this winter! Shoveling to him is just another form of play and he acts like it's more exciting than sledding it seems. He's capable of cleaning off the sidewalk, but he also likes to make piles in the middle of our walk way.

When we got back from Florida, all the snow had melted except any huge piles. There had been a miniature mountain in our front yard that John made for more exciting sledding down the little hill in front. There was a foot square patch left for Nolan to stomp in the night we got back, and stomp he did! We enjoyed a week of above average temperatures that week in the 50s and even low 60s, which made the weekend dusting of snow and chilliness seem all the more bizarre. John & I moaned when we looked out the window Saturday morning and saw the snow, but Nolan's first words were, "I need my snow boots and snow pants and my snow shovel!" He wolfed down breakfast and was out the door. There wasn't enough snow on the sidewalks, so he shoveled the grass as well. He made as big a pile he could right in front of our steps and we enjoyed watching it melt over the next few days.
