cheetah encounter of the very close kind

Any time we head West on I-94 Nolan thinks of a few things that we might be doing, and he's usually right. We're either going to see Jiya (usually the right response), or going to the zoo. It's been a bit too cold to go for a while, I think the last time we went was the beginning of November with Jiya actually. Even if we're not on the interstate he'll still randomly ask "Go zoo?" So when we got back from Florida we were blessed with a sunny and "warm" weekend in the 20s so we went. The cheetahs were definitely frisky in the snow. The zookeeper assured us that they could go inside if they wanted to, but were enjoying themselves. We saw a lot of primates (all indoors) and other big cats, and Nolan did not fuss at all that he couldn't ride the train. Somehow telling him that it was too cold for the train was a clear enough explanation for him, although we all can't wait until it opens again.
