the cake, the swing and the beacon or "other moments from the grandparent's camera"

Cars are still awesome in Nolan's book, but I think trains are becoming a bigger obsession now. Seriously, he still loves cars.


My parents had this nice new patio to enjoy in the front of their house and even hung a swing for Nolan. A plus is you can sit as you push. He still likes to swing for many many minutes. I think the longest was a half hour once.


This is a beacon Grandpa found at an architectural salvage store in Chattanooga and he fixed it up for the front porch and put in an LED bulb that changes gradually to ten colors. It was a nighttime sensation for Nolan along with a great view of the moon and stars out in the country.
