milwaukee vacation

so my parents were here this past weekend, and we treated it like our own vacation, too. Grandma got to be a part of all Nolan's routines as she read books, fed the boy and put him down for his naps. he's much better behaved for her than me... i still have issues putting him in his crib for naps without fussing, but for everyone else it fuss free. i am so lucky.

Nolan went to the cabinet and pulled out John's book of Porches. he's a baby with big dreams.

we then went for a pleasant (and breezy) ride on a trolley car route in the country nearby. it started and ended at a fancy farmer's market, and by fancy i just mean it was indoors. Nolan was still too excited over his train ride to eat, but he went crazy for the fizzy juice i was drinking. i guess we don't ever give him juice.

we then went with Ruby's family to the Lakefront Brewery for the Friday night fish fry, polka dancing and fish fry. oh, and a tour of the brewery with lots of complimentary beer. the kids were so good since they were entertaining themselves. Nolan watched the polka dancing with a firm grip on my shirt for a couple songs, then i couldn't get him off the dance floor. that was one day of their visit, and i personally spent the rest trying to recuperate.
