i hate to admit this on the blog, but the best moments do go unphotographed.... tonight we had dinner with our neighbors and their son Benjamin. they also brought their five week old baby, Max. when invited over to see the baby, Nolan (surprisingly to me) went running to get on the couch chanting "baby!" and proceeded to view Max sweetly and cautiously and then gently touched his feet and face. he then dug in for the belly button! before he had been jealous since i was holding Max, but this time with Max on his own Nolan was so sweet.
when i told Nolan that Benjamin was coming over, he wanted his shoes on and to go outside to meet him. we walked up the sidewalk until we met halfway and then escorted them to our home. once back home, the same toy stealing was going on, with Nolan taking and Benjamin moving on to the next toy. but tonight i watched Nolan try to do everything Benjamin was doing. it was like a fun game to him. they drummed, played with a few things together, read books and overall looked like they were having a great time. Nolan then wanted to escort them back home. basically he just wants to be outside all the time. but i was really amused at how excited he was about seeing his friend, laughing and spinning in circles.
