we had really a rather lazy weekend. we topped it off with a walk outside since it's above freezing. truly we have discovered that any time it's above 20 degrees, it's a cause for celebration and going outside. Nolan was very energetic walking in the snow on the sidewalks that hadn't been shoveled yet. he walked all the way down to a neighbor's house with whom we had a fun visit and their (i think) 20 month old son.
we're entering the fun area of language it seems. i'm still thoroughly impressed with Nolan every time he does what i ask... i suppose i can enjoy these brief moments. when i tell him to go take a bath, he runs to the bathroom. with equal joy, he runs to the stairs when i tell him to go upstairs (for a diaper change... i leave that last part out most of the time since it doesn't meet similar enthusiasm.) we stumbled upon a wonderful toy store this weekend which had lots of toy cars to choose from. Nolan pointed up at a particular box of wooden race cars saying "mama, mama" which i could hear in my head the rest of the sentence "buy me more cars." he doesn't say the hard c sound yet, not even in his babbling, but car will be the first word i'm sure. he plays with them ALL day long.
of note, Nolan is learning a lot from being at home with his dad. the other night he stood up in his bath, he then peed and sat back down.
