to celebrate Nolan's first fourth of July, we had a birthday party to attend for a friend's son's first birthday. there was a wading pool, and i got Nolan some swim trunks for the occasion, but he did not particularly enjoy being in a cold water bath. i initially plopped him in since he usually loves his bath, but i think the shock of the cold water on a day in the high 80s gave him an unpleasant jolt. he was loving playing with the other kids when they were dry, though. i kept trying to dip his feet in and got a variety of unhappy faces. too bad since i got him the baby version of "speedos." he looked pretty baby buff, with all his cute fat rolls hanging out. very European.
we also visited some of John's film making friends... i feel like we're trying to pack it all in before we leave town which is coming up way too soon. they had a skateboard and Nolan could actually push himself back and forth on it. that should make his uncle Collin proud.
