we have learned the hard way how willful our son can be. Nolan loves to leap whatever direction he wants to be, but i don't think he meant the floor. he has a red mark on his head from leaping a bit too strongly and unexpectedly for one of us (i won't name names here). fortunately he got over it quickly... he had his 9 month visit at the doctor's the next day and checked out fine (we knew it). so he's 17 pounds and 11 ounces at that visit, and 27 inches long. no wonder he powered his way to the floor.
i had a second full weekend at home (i can't tell y'all how badly i needed it) and one of the wonderful things about it is getting to take a nap with Nolan. he's such a sweet snuggler. i woke up before he did and had to keep busy in our bedroom since i do not want anymore head trauma...
he had a lovely visit from the Johnson GPs, which i think there will be many of in the next several weeks before we go out of state to Milwaukee. Nolan had his piggies counted and loved it. he was oddly calm and still in my mom's arms. i guess even active babies need a place to chill.
i tried to capture how amused Nolan was by the baby in the mirror. i swear he even looked behind it trying to find his playmate. his gregarious nature extends to other babies. whenever he gets a chance to see a baby or kid he's so intrigued... dogs, too. anything that moves.
