using delicate hands

Nolan has admired this model ship for a long time, but we'd always said it was too delicate to take down and look at. Well, until now. My Paw Paw made it and it's been in our possession since moving here. We reminded Nolan how fragile it was and he was definitely respectful and at first just looked. Then he wanted to know what everything was called and carefully pointed at each item without moving anything. He gets more and more inquisitive every day. He doesn't ask the proverbial toddler mantra of "why" all the time yet, but usually asks, "How does this work?" and "What's this called?" I felt like I needed his Papa to teach Nolan all the boat lingo, so next time they visit we'll bring it down. Nolan knows what a canon looks like now, but I'll definitely save the firearms lesson for later.
