little digger

This is what we left behind for our wonderful trip to Florida. Our window was frosty for the week of subzero temperatures we had since the storm window is broken... thank goodness for storm windows. Once the temperatures returned to double digits the window went back to normal.

Nolan loved digging in the sand for a little while, and would pause to dig every few steps. Then discovered the playground. There he climbed and laughed with other kids. We actually went back to the beach just for the playground... at first he said "where's kids?" In general, asking "where is ____?" has become a big thing. If John just leaves the room Nolan will ask "where's dada?"

Oddly enough, at the beach there was a couple playing old standards on a synthesizer, trying to get the cafe crowd to sing along, and Nolan had to stop and listen. For too too many songs. He got another earful of more tastefully done guitar music at a restaurant and stopped to watch. The boy likes music and isn't too discerning as of yet, but I am sure his dad will instill good tastes in him.
