peas

Nolan had a nice visit from his Johnson GPs on the eve of his 6 month mark. he has a sippy cup now which he loves more for it's chewable-ness than for the water in it. i doubt he's even had an ounce from it yet, but he chews away on the tip. he's great at holding it and he's not quite as crazy for our glasses anymore... it seems at least. we took them all to Caffeine, one of our favorite eateries in town.

and since he's 6 months old now, he got peas last night as a "gift." we were expecting some gross out picture so we had the camera ready, but as usual the camera trumped Nolan's interest in everything else. so for the first few bites, it was as if he wasn't even tasting the peas. once we put the camera down he started giving us the "ick" looks we were anticipating! he did the "chicken wing" as John calls it... that cough, sputter and wiggle you do when the whiskey's strong... but i swear we didn't spike his peas. John got the best picture of Nolan actually pushing away the spoon, which he started to do a third of the way through the jar. usually Nolan loves to play with the spoon and chew on it, but this time he looked at it as if it had betrayed him. oh and i did just happen to grab the "no peas please" bib... carrots next time.
