it's been amazing how strong Nolan's gotten so quickly. he's so motivated to reach for anything (and many times successfully grab, too). just watching him arch his back and spin around (slowly) when reaching for something is amazing. i can tell the beginning of the urges to crawl are welling up in him as he gets frustrated when something is just at the tips of his fingers.
Nolan got to visit my Mimi and PawPaw's house just before it was sold. this grove of trees is where my parents got married and it seemed appropriate and beautiful to take a family photo there. he got to see where his grandmother Wanda grew up, we'll show him the pictures someday.
not only is this Nolan's first visit to a record store (our favorite, Grimey's in Nashville), but also his first black tee shirt! of course this one's cute with a dandelion on it... his uncle Collin's girlfriend Emily is doing the honors of showing Nolan around.
Nolan LOVES dogs. his doesn't understand their facial expressions as i frequently see him in a staring contest with Stella, but he always squeals with joy when he gets to sink his hands into their fur. here he is getting to know Elliot, Asia & Krys's dog. he even remembered to wear green pajamas on St. Patrick's day.
Nolan is now also sitting! you have to have a hand nearby, but it's shocking to see him just looking up at you seated in front of you... it's beautiful. and tonight, a first that i know of... usually when he goes to bed, he wakes up again within the first hour of sleep and cries out. usually all it takes it picking him up, snuggling and humming him back to sleep (or singing... i'm trying to learn more songs). tonight i heard his quiet "i'm awake" grunts and looked in. he was laying there, eyes open, but quiet and happy. he just quietly went back to sleep on his own after a few minutes or so. i am thrilled.
