heads up

Nolan likes to really work out now... he puts a lot of grunting and effort into holding his head up and standing... he'll put his whole body into keeping his head up and it pulls his feet up, too. you can tell when he's getting tired because the grunting gets louder as his head droops down. the standing thing cracks him up. he'll make his whole body straight and rigid smiling and laughing, knowing that he's freaking us out over the idea of a three month old standing up. we can tell we've got a lot of baby chasing ahead of us!

when grandma Wanda visited he enjoyed being rocked to sleep many times as she danced around, and my mom enjoyed using the swing every once in while since he falls asleep in a minute... effortlessly. i'll have to figure out how to post video so i can share his noises. they've gone from sweet cooing to boistrous cayoodling. (and i just went on a web search to see if i spelled that word right... i discovered it's origin is in New Orleans dialect and the OED spells it kyoodle, but i prefer it with a c).
