so we've had our first week of me working and Nolan & John hanging out together. i had a lot to catch up on and in a way, so did John. i've been a baby hog since Nolan was born and so i've been the one stealing all the smiles and affection. so John happily reported that Nolan actually smiled at him Thursday "intentionally". i asked what that meant about all the other smiles i know John's gotten... they were all accidents from Nolan's being happy about pooping, eating and the like...
i missed Nolan desperately the whole time and showed pics off to my favorite patients. the two guys came and visited me for lunch a few times much to my delight. he's a star among the staff at the office.
this weekend we were on the road (again!) to Memphis for a college friend's wedding. four gals and a baby boy made the trek together (more than 8 hours in the car in one day) and had a great time talking and Nolan joined in with all his precious cooing. he's about as talkative as four gals. he was extremely polite and well behaved the whole day... he's made up for it a bit the past couple days getting his fuss on, but he now can be easily distracted and turn a cry into a coo so quickly. John was super pleased to have his boy back after i stole him away a whole day for our trip. i was really happy to have the quality girl time and have my baby at the same time after such a long work week.
we got to see the Johnson GPs Sunday who got to see over the weekend how much Nolan enjoys his bath and how difficult it is to get the armpit and double chin cheese out... and it's time for another bath now...
