apples in autumn

We had a fantastically wholesome family experience this weekend picking apples at the Elegant Farmer orchard in Mukwonago. We were accompanied by our neighbors the Himsel family. First we got apple cider donuts because the smell that greeted us at the entrance to the orchard was way more appealing than trotting out into the fields. After downing about a dozen donuts we got on the hay wagon and went deeper into the orchard where at least six varieties awaited for picking. We quickly filled up our basket and had fun sampling from the trees. Nico slept the entire time of course, but Nolan was very busy trying to get up every tree and ladder.
