I was sort of working all of Christmas weekend this year, so we had the holiday to ourselves and had a sweet time. Nolan was an angel on actual Christmas day, making up for the prior days of his cabin fever crazy behavior. (We've got to find some kind of indoor playground.) Leading up to the big day, we made a gingerbread house and train. The house got eaten by our dog Riley, who is also suffering from cabin fever.

Stella was thrilled to have a stocking and was going nuts for the raw hides inside. We can still shake it with the jingle bells and she comes running for more raw hide!

It took Nolan a while to realize that presents had magically materialized under the tree. When he did finally notice, there was no stopping him. He actually started out on his own bringing a present to each of us, and then helped us open ours. He started to say that some of the presents were then for his friends. After opening each one he would want to play with it for a while before moving on, stretching out the morning's joy.

When we got around to looking in his stocking, he was interested until he got the one thing he had asked for. In fact he had been asking for a certain train named Mavis for a couple months. Once he had her in his hands, it was hard to get him to come back to see the rest of the contents!

Well, I got him to come back to check out the viewmaster reels!
