two year old engineers

Recently we had a wonderful time at the birthday party of Nolan's friend Sawyer. They're both two now and I think it can be fairly said that little boys love trains. Sawyer is such a gracious boy to share his new toys with Nolan and his sister. We had a great time, but of note, Nolan still does not like the happy birthday song. As soon as Sawyer's family sang the first few words, Nolan burst out into distressed tones and tears. So, on the record, he's afraid of scary Halloween houses and the happy birthday song.

I'm quite remiss in that I do not have any pictures of our first Halloween night trick-or-treating... we went around the neighborhood with another of Nolan's friend, another two year old, and almost the first home we went to had a big bat that descended on the boy's heads and Nolan hugged me in sheer terror! He stuck very close if not in my arms almost the rest of the time... he was a terribly cute monkey though. And he understood his mission. He said "treat or treat" and "candy please" and had the best time.
