the same day that my mom leaves, Nolan does something completely different. he never took interest in the stairs before, but all of a sudden we look over and he's already up a step. he proceded to climb the whole stairwell (which you may note is quite tight). he's gotten better at it each climb, learning to use his knee and not try to get his foot planted flat on the step. he must have terribly strong quad muscles. he grabs the ledge of each step to help himself. he doesn't need a bit of help from us, but looks and smiles knowing we're there. this is now the toy de jour and if we don't let him climb, a fit ensues. a guess we'll have to get another baby gate.
