we are all home from Nolan's same day surgery and i am so glad it's finally done so i don't have to worry so much about it anymore. i now understand about the parenthood ulcers. i was pretty high on adrenaline anyways on arrival to surgery because i had already been at the hospital for a couple hours delivering a baby. Nolan is sleeping a lot right now, but doesn't seem to be in any pain and he's eating well.
some pictures from earlier this week show how happy and oblivious he was to taday's event. he has discovered the dogs have fur and that it feels good! he is intent upon grabbing it and squeals with excitement at it, especially when the dogs move and give him attention. much to my dismay, Stella found out about the milk spit-up so often on Nolan's lips and licked his chin... i guess it's inevitable they'll be friends. Stella's already sniffing Nolan's laundry basket wanting to lick his clothes clean. wherever there's food Stella's not too far.
Nolan favors the washcloth as a bathtime toy now. he'll suck it dry if he could. and the bear suit got perhaps it's final use this week, we'll see. he's getting so big! 14 and a half pounds taday (or 6.6 kilos as John favors).

In all the pictures, he always seems so aware of the camera.
we can't seem to sneak up on him with the camera, he's got camera radar or something... he then just stares... it's hard to get his cute smile on "film"
