Uncle Collin and Aunt Emily brought over pumpkins for carving and we had a great time making scary ones and a nice one by Nolan's request. Inside the larger jack-o-laterns he put the baby pumpkins and said that they'd be born soon! This was the year we've been waiting for. Nolan was into the costumes, the candy and the "spookiness" of everything. Spooky became the adjective de jour for days and weeks it seemed. He had two costumes technically, his super cape which he wore for trick or treating at the Nashville zoo for "Ghouls at Grassmere" and then the fireman outfit. Nico got to join in as Nolan's trusty dalmation/firedog. He had to introduce folks to his puppy and called her that for the days that followed. October will be Nolan's favorite month for many years to come with his birthday and Halloween and he keeps asking if it's time for both again!
