Nana read Nolan a book that was meant for him, right now. Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things That Go. i still haven't seen every page... it's an overwhelming amount of things on wheels of all types and kept Nolan quite engaged. he was reading his uncle Mark's old copy. he's read his uncle Collin's old copy at my parent's house. it's time for him to have his own copy i guess. as it is, he'll frequently request the parts about cars in his current non-completely-car devoted books.
just Nolan displaying his abilities to sneak through small places...
and then ham it up for the camera.
home again, Nolan trying to munch a bedtime snack of cashews (but digging for the chocolate chips) while sitting big person style. at least his chin is above the table.
tonight we had a first for helpfulness. he loves helping me feed the dogs, but tonight he actually helped me! i was telling the dogs to sit (Nolan usually relishes this part, yelling sit! sit!) i turn around and he's opened the bin of food, gotten the bowls out AND laid them out and then starts to scoop the food with the cup. he needed help with that part since 3 cups of food is hard to get at once, but he then perfectly poured out the food into the bowls. he then ran off before the dogs started eating to help me fold laundry upstairs... well kind of. he ran around naked with a freshly clean blanket wrapped around him.
