museums and pools

Nolan is a versatile traveler, practically finding something to enjoy anywhere. he has been interested in cars for a while but cranked it up a notch it seems for our trip. if anything you could rely on him watching cars go by on the street trying to point out every single one. his pronunciation of car is ever evolving, more like "sar" for now. the hard "c" is ever elusive.

we went to the Ringling Museum and Nolan enjoyed the Grandma Moses exhibit, especially since there were dogs and farm animals in practically every painting. in the permanent exhibit he enjoyed the cherubs, i'm sure recognizing a little bit of himself.

the pool was a big hit! the first day he just wanted to sit on the step with a firm grip on two cars for security. each day after he was gaining confidence, too much you might say. he would jump off the side of the pool into my arms and forcefully lean and kick where he wanted to go. i was merely a means for his swimming. we were blowing bubbles in the water and he kept trying to do it, too, despite multiple mouthfuls of water and up the nose. he finally caught on but not in the pool... while drinking from my glass of water.
