cars still remain Nolan's favorite toy, and lately his favorite way to play with them is at eye level on the coffee table. he will kneel there and push them around sometimes with vigor, but tonight he was just mesmerized by them. i wondered what he was thinking about as he slowly pushed each car along with such a serious expression.
another thing that puts Nolan in a trance is the television. we still do not subscribe to cable and only pull out the little TV for special PBS programming or to check the news to see if i have a snow day.

That looks like one of those TV's from the olden days. I didn't even think they could still pick up electromagnetic signals? I'm surprised the photo doesn't show Nolan standing next to it holding the antenna wearing a tin foil hat!
