Nolan had a fun visit with Grumpa this weekend and we celebrated my graduation a bit. he's big enough to sit up on shoulders now but of course not strong enough to hold on. he actually likes to thrust himself backwards when you're holding him on your chest because he likes the rush of being upside down... which means we have to be extra cautious to have a good grip on him. my dad really wanted to nap but Nolan wanted to play with him instead. if Nolan gets to nap, shouldn't we all, too?
Nolan decided to take big strides on the developmental curve this weekend, which thrills me since i'm finally home for a full weekend. we'd seen him push himself backwards on the kitchen floor, but just figured it was because it was slick. but he's now really putting in the effort to push himself around in circles. he pivots a lot on his belly, too. so he's officially mobile, although frustrated because clearly he wants to go forward. he pushed himself under our couch... pretty cute.
Stella is getting closer to Nolan. i think it was the biscuit Nolan gave her. she's definitely tolerating more grabbing by Nolan rather than running away.
we don't have that many family portraits i realize since we're so busy taking pictures of Nolan, but here's one for the record.
