gumming it

in this picture i can tell you he is humming. or rather he's going "ehhhhhhh" a lot. it's his saying for a lot of things, concentrating on a toy, being tired, being happy, a lot of meanings.


he's been sucking on his lips in the funniest ways... sometimes on the top lip like here, sometimes both, but it always makes me laugh.


His Nana got a chance to feed him lentils with apples and carrots... delicious. he was multi-tasking by playing (and tearing up) the paper covering the table while eating. feeding him can be quite a game. he's gotten quite good at opening his mouth for the spoon (who would have thought what a complicated skill this is) and will even keep it open waiting on the spoonful. he used to help by grabbing the spoon and trying to stick it in his own mouth, but now he's realized he can do his own thing, like playing, while being spoonfed.



Nolan finally has a high chair! and he's so happy in it... he was working his way out of the bumbo seat at meals so easily it was time for him to finally have his own chair. it's a Swedish one, much to the delight of my family i'm sure.

so we're moved in to our new home, which proved to be more difficult on Nolan than i thought... he was happy as long as you held him the day of the move. but now he's returned to his normal independent playful teething self... the little bumps on his lower gum seem to get more prominent by the day and i look forward to those teeth peeking out in hopes that it'll mean a little extra sleep for all of us. it seems like he's gotten even stronger over the past week... he almost does the "downward dog" style yoga position and can twist like crazy. he's such a wiggle worm, you have to keep a close eye while holding him. he'll lunge in all directions at once it seems he's so fast...
