Spring is finally here and we've been enjoying safaris in our local park. One pond is full of lily pads, frogs and ducks typically with their ducklings.

See the frog?

Nolan did, along with many others. I swear we saw much more than a dozen. They wouldn't always jump away, so it thrilled Nolan when I started using sticks to gently prod them into hopping. He said I was tickling their toes.

The other pond has at least three families of geese. Nolan was sneaking up as close as he could until the parents started to hiss too much at us.

We actually saw a deer in the park one day, an odd sight considering how urban our park is. We tried to report it but we were informed that deer are just wildlife and have a right to be in the park, too. It was a joy for a city boy like Nolan to see.
