father's day, milwaukee style

The weather was perfect Sunday for a picnic dinner at the lake. We got take out Ethiopian for John and peanut butter sandwich with watermelon for Nolan and headed out for the evening. (Nolan will eat the injera bread but usually not much else from the Ethiopian restaurant.) We did all of our favorite things at the lake. We played on the beach, threw rocks in the water, Nolan walked around in the edge of the water and watched boats and kayaks and John got to buy beer at the park and drink it from a plastic cup. It never ceases to amaze me where you can buy beer in Milwaukee and how you can just walk around with it. They have a great lakeside cafe run by the park system with ice cream, other sweets and beer. Somehow Nolan got tricked into holding it for his dad. He later shared some ice cream with me and then we were off to the playground.
