the neighbors came over to celebrate our first wood fire and you can tell it was getting towards bedtime for these babies by the look on their faces. Nolan was so visibly excited to have a friend over to play with. several times he tried to put his head down on her and she (gently) pushed him away the first time and he had the saddest look on his face. he didn't cry but you could tell he was contemplating the rejection. she then later kissed him on the cheek a few times to his delight. i've heard of the importance of "play dates" for kids and such, but everyone around here keeps adding on that "in the winter it's soooo important." i take it everyone gets bored of being indoors. no worries for Nolan, with so many kids around his age on our street he'll have fun.
