our little inchworm

For Nico's 9 month birthday she starting crawling! It was also Mother's Day weekend, so maybe she just wanted to give me a treat. It was with much frustrated grunting at first, but that quickly changed into happy laughs as she moved from room to room. She would move like an inchworm at first but now has the coordinated right-leg-left-leg motion going but still likes to show off by getting up only on both toes and her hands! She has started pointing, too, so between that and the crawling we really know what she wants. The plastic Easter eggs were her initial motivation and still the sight of them sends her along. We really have to watch out now since other undesirable things like dog water bowls, electrical outlets and electrical cords have already caught her eye!
